You can search for information on drugs that you can prescribe for patients. This information helps you make the best decision for your patients regarding the proper medications and cost.
Pharmacy Drug Coverage Inquiry
1. | Select the appropriate tab for the search you want to use. You can search by drug name or by the National Drug Code (NDC). | |
Note: If you choose to search by drug name, you can enter the brand or generic name for the drug. If you search by NDC, you can enter the complete NDC or a minimum of two characters. | ||
2. | Enter the effective date or select the date using the calendar. | |
3. | Click Search. | |
The Search Results panel displays the drugs that meet your search criteria. | ||
4. | Click the + beside any row in the search results list to see more information for the drug such as dosage strength, dose form (such as tablet or liquid), reimbursement rate, package size, and maximum quantity information. You can also see whether or not the drug is on the preferred drug list and if there was a prior authorization for the drug. |
